A leading Nordic e-commerce company is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their team. In this role, you'll design and deploy backend services using Python and FastAPI, work with distributed systems like Kafka and Kubernetes, and ensure high platform reliability and security. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and maintain components of the marketplace platform.
• Work with distributed systems technologies for performance.
• Manage and optimize data persistence layers using PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Collaborate closely with a small, specialized, and skilled team to solve complex business problems and implement innovative solutions.
• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from architectural discussions and design to coding, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our platform as we modernize and scale.
• Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

We're dedicated to providing great online shopping experiences and are on the lookout for a Backend Engineer to join us on this journey for our two Nordic marketplaces: CDON and Fyndiq.

About the Role

As a Backend Engineer, you\'ll be joining a small, highly skilled, AI powered and collaborative team where your contributions will have a direct and measurable impact. We\'re talking about the core of our business – without our robust platform, there\'s no marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable backend services using Python 3.x and FastAPI.
• Build and maintain critical components of our marketplaceplatform that directly power the CDON marketplace, and create AI powered features.
• Work with distributed systems technologies like Kafka and Kubernetes to ensure high availability and performance.
• Manage and optimize data persistence layers using a variety of databases, including PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Collaborate closely with a small, specialized, and skilled team to solve complex business problems and implement innovative solutions.
• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from architectural discussions and design to coding, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our platform as we continue to modernize and scale.
• Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience with event driven systems and microservices
• A proven track record in building and operating complex systems.
• Solid development skills in Python, OR knowledge of several other languages and a willingness to learn Python.
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
• A DevOps culture mindset.
• Experience with cloud environments (GCP, AWS, etc.).
