ALTEN is seeking an Embedded Software Tester in Gothenburg to design, develop, and automate tests for embedded systems in automotive projects. You will verify functionality, interfaces, diagnostics, and communications while working in HIL environments and on target hardware.

You’ll analyze results, drive defects, and support root cause analysis with engineers and developers. The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field, strong AUTOSAR, CAN/Automotive Ethernet, UDS experience, and

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, or equivalent.
• Experience in the automotive industry – understanding sector challenges.
• Experience with AUTOSAR architecture and standardized vehicle software platforms.
• Strong knowledge of CAN and Automotive Ethernet protocols.
• Experience with UDS – diagnostics and error handling.
• Practical experience with Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, vTESTstudio/VTEST.
• Proficiency in Python, CAPL, or other scripting languages for test automation.
• Experience with HIL systems and real-time simulation.
• Understanding of low-level protocols and firmware interfaces.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 and cybersecurity standards in automotive.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and communicate in English.
• Experience with requirement-based, integration, and system testing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cross-functional teams.
• Swedish or EU Driver’s License – required for field activities.
