Job summary

Nordea Group Technology is seeking an Associate Forward Deployed AI Engineer (Graduate/Junior Data Scientist) to start their tech career and learn to design and deliver scalable AI solutions under guidance.

You will contribute to end-to-end AI applications, explore new tools and frameworks, and develop skills in ML models, production readiness, and cloud platforms. This role is hybrid, based in Stockholm with flexibility to other Nordea locations in Europe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field (completed or graduating by summer 2027).
• Academic projects or internships involving AI/ML concepts.
• Strong Python programming skills and willingness to adopt scalable coding practices.
• Willingness to learn model deployment and production optimization.
• Understanding or willingness to learn cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for AI/ML and data services.
• Excellent collaboration and communication with diverse teams including data scientists and engineers.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a collaborative Associate Forward Deployed AI Engineer (Graduate / Junior Data Scientist), at the start of their tech career, with foundational technical skills and eagerness to learn to join our Forward Deployed AI team at Nordea. What you Will be Doing

• Contribute to the end-to-end delivery of impactful AI applications: architecture, implementation, integration, testing and production rollout.

• Develop foundational skills and knowledge covering advanced machine learning models and algorithms for various business applications.

We are looking for recent graduates and final-year students with various academic backgrounds, qualifying for most of the following requirements:

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent academic experience (completed or graduating by summer 2027)
• Academic projects, internships, or personal projects involving implementation of AI/ML concepts
• Good software engineering skills with proficiency in Python and willingness to learn scalable, maintainable coding practices
• Eagerness to learn model implementation and optimization for production use
• Understanding or willingness to learn cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), particularly AI/ML and data services
• Excellent collaboration skills and enthusiasm for working with diverse teams including data scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders

It would be ideal if you also have

• Academic interest or coursework in Generative AI and Machine Learning technologies
• Project experience from agile environments or participation in tech-driven transformation projects
• Academic exposure or personal projects with agent development frameworks and harnesses such as LangGraph, Deep Agents, AutoGen, CrewAI or similar, including multi-agent coordination and sub-agent delegation
• Understanding of testing methodologies and interest in learning performance monitoring and maintaining reliability in production environments
