Job summary

Cambio is seeking an Associate AI Engineer in Stockholm or Linköping to help hundreds of colleagues work smarter through AI. You’ll be embedded in a business team and supported by a virtual AI engineering group, receiving coaching from experienced AI engineers.

This role targets early-career technologists who love learning, experimenting, and turning problems into working solutions. You’ll collaborate with users and stakeholders to deliver real value in everyday workflows.

Job description

The position

As an Associate AI Engineer, you will work closely with users across Cambio to identify problems, build practical AI-powered solutions, and help those solutions become part of everyday work.

You'll be embedded in one of our business teams while also being part of a virtual AI engineering team where you'll receive coaching, mentorship and technical guidance from experienced AI engineers.

This role is designed for people early in their careers who are passionate about technology, curious about AI, and excited by the idea of turning problems into working solutions.

You don't need to be an expert. You need to be eager to learn, comfortable experimenting, and motivated to build things that create real value.

What You'll Be Doing

Discover

• Work closely with colleagues and users to understand problems and opportunities.
• Learn how different parts of Cambio work and identify where AI can make a difference.
• Turn ideas and pain points into concrete solutions.

Build

• Prototype and build AI-powered applications, agents, automations and workflows.
• Use AI as a core tool throughout the development process.
• Test solutions early and improve them based on user feedback.

Deliver

• Help bring solutions into everyday use.
• Measure the impact of what you build.
• Share learnings and successful patterns with colleagues.

Grow

• Learn from experienced Product Engineers and AI specialists.
• Develop your technical skills through hands-on projects.
• Become increasingly independent in delivering valuable solutions.

About you

You are curious by nature and enjoy figuring out how things work, whether it's a business process, a technical challenge, or a new AI capability. You like turning ideas into practical solutions and are comfortable working closely with users and stakeholders to understand their needs.

You have experience building software, applications, automations, or digital solutions through work, studies, or your own projects. AI is already part of how you learn, experiment, and create, and you're excited about applying it to solve real-world problems. Most importantly, you are eager to learn, take initiative, and continuously develop your skills.

As you'll collaborate with colleagues across the organization and help shape solutions that support nearly 1,000 employees, you communicate clearly and confidently in both Swedish and English.

Technical Experience

We believe you have experience in several of the following areas:

• Software development through studies, work, side projects or personal initiatives.
• Building applications, automations or digital solutions using AI tools.
• Using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude Code or similar.
• Working with APIs, scripting, low-code/no-code platforms or modern development tools.
• Taking an idea from concept to something real people can use.

Experience in any of the following areas is considered a plus

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Experience from healthcare, health tech or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience building AI agents, assistants or workflow automations.
• Experience from customer-facing roles such as support, consulting or product development.
• Experience taking an application, automation or digital product from idea to real-world use.

Full-time, hybrid work model (three days per week in-office)

Permanent employment, 6 months trial period
