Assistant Professor in Mathematics with Specialization in Applied Mathematics

Title: Assistant Professor in Mathematics with Specialization in Applied Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Focus on research, becoming an independent researcher within the international community.
• Teach courses at basic, advanced, and doctoral level in mathematics and supervise degree projects and doctoral students.
• Possibly undertake administrative duties.
• Expected to be able to teach in Swedish within four years; a language support plan may be provided.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research expertise in mathematics, preferably in applied mathematics.
• Research expertise demonstrated through publications, conference participation, research cooperation, and community service such as reviewing.
• Potential to qualify for a higher faculty position, including independent research development and teaching.
• Postdoctoral experience from a research environment other than the university where the doctoral thesis was defended; industry R&D experience may be considered equivalent.
• Interest and understanding of pedagogical development in mathematics.
• Interest and understanding of academic leadership, interaction with society, and awareness of diversity and equal treatment, particularly gender equality.
• Administrative expertise.
• Ability to teach in Swedish is a merit for promotion consideration.

Eligibility

• Candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent research expertise.
• Preference for candidates who obtained qualifications within seven years before the application deadline.
• Other candidates may be considered for extraordinary grounds such as illness, parental leave or similar circumstances.
