Job description
Overview

Senior level telecommunications engineer providing support for telecommunications and IT installations and upgrades. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Inside / Outside (I/O) cable plant engineering support, including complete technical solutions for telecommunications and IT upgrades and installations in accordance with TIA 758 standards.
  • Analyze technical requirements for telecommunications and IT services, assess projected mission and infrastructure changes, and recommend capabilities for new facilities.
  • Engineer the technical solution to meet USAFCENT-approved requirements.
  • Develop and execute cutover plans to integrate newly installed telecommunications and IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless transition of services.
  • Coordinate cutover plans with appropriate customers, service agencies, and theater communications and IT agencies.
  • Perform and document site surveys to support fiber optic, copper, and coaxial infrastructure requirements.
  • Prepare PSAs including specifications for allied support, minor construction, facility upgrades, equipment and materials, tools, and test equipment.
  • Create working engineering project packages for installation teams with installation instructions, sketches, and list of materials.
  • Manage engineering installation teams on engineering projects.
  • Brief key stakeholders (including commanders) on plans and status of projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical, electronics, or computer engineering from an accredited university; OR BICSI Outside Plant Design Certification; OR USAF Engineering and Installation Project Engineering Certification.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Active Secret Tier 3 Security Clearance.
  • 6 years of practical experience supporting communications electronic systems or equipment, with technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand circuitry interrelationships, IP routing, and architecture design, and exercise independent judgment.
  • 6 years of engineering experience in telecommunications and physical infrastructure.
  • 3 years of experience in military communication systems, as specified in the task order.
Working Environment
  • Climate-controlled facility. Outdoor temperatures may exceed 100°F.
  • Support required during non-traditional working hours, including nights or weekends.
Physical Activities

Must be able to lift/push/pull 40 lbs unassisted.
