Job description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Technical Welding Engineer to ensure the quality and integrity of welding processes and products by developing, implementing, and maintaining welding standards and procedures in a naval shipyard.

Responsibilities

Strategic and Functional Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement welding procedures and standards
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and codes
  • Conduct welding inspections and quality control checks
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure welding requirements are met
  • Continuously improve welding processes and procedures
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Organize and conduct welding training for engineering and operation staff
  • Manage welding projects and ensure timely completion
  • Supervise welding technicians and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Prepare reports and documentation on welding activities and findings
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified International Welding Engineer.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as weld engineer or a related field.
  • Experience in working with Class Societies and with International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) rules and regulations for new build.
