Job Title: Surgical Neurophysiology

SHORT DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) services, ensuring patient safety during complex neurosurgical and spinal procedures, and contributing to the continuous development of neurophysiology practices within our institution.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) during neurosurgical, spinal, and other relevant procedures.
  • Interpret neurophysiological data in real-time to assist the surgical team in preventing neurological injury.
  • Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff to optimize surgical outcomes.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and advise on surgical planning where neurophysiological monitoring is required.
  • Provide post‑operative evaluations and contribute to case discussions and clinical audits.
  • Mentor and train junior neurophysiology staff and contribute to departmental teaching programs.
  • Participate in research, protocol development, and quality improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Graduate from a medical school of good standing.
  • Board certification or specialist registration in Clinical Neurophysiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, or related discipline.
  • Fellowship training in Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (preferred)
  • Proven expertise in modalities such as EEG, EMG, SSEP, MEP, BAEP, and related techniques
  • Saudi Arab or American /European Board Certification or equivalent.
  • Membership and/or Fellowship status in America and/or Europe or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the consultant as required
  • A certificate recognized by the Saudi commission is a must.
  • Dataflow is a must.
Professional Experience
  • Min. 3-4 years Post Board/Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, or related discipline.
  • A registered member of the Saudi Board Council
Language
  • Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
