Key Accountability Areas
- Own overall CNS projects Initiative Master Plan, ensuring projects are governed according to IMP rules and aligned with overall SANS leadership direction.
- Lead weekly IMP meetings with ESD and concerned departments to ensure all updates are timely and orderly.
- Ensure IMP governance is adhered to by all SANS departments.
- Review weekly updates from the startup department concerning project readiness and risks.
- Follow up PMT report and ensure the report is adhered to by OSD teams.
- Lead monthly PMT meetings with OSD teams to ensure all outcomes from the PMT report are timely and orderly.
- Follow up the required actions released based on PMT report to keep KPIs on track and avoid deviations.
Department Management
- Lead department daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings.
- Review all reports before meetings are conducted.
- Call for and lead projects loss‑analysis sessions in conjunction with startup supervisors; document outcomes.
- Ensure startup department board and project‑management tool are updated and follow up on performance indicators.
- Ensure startup budget is on track.
- Perform analysis on any out‑of‑track KPIs concerning the department.
Co‑ordination Activities
- Maintain liaison with various project‑related departments within SANS (Operations Division, ESD, AAS, ADS, Facilities, HR, Procurement, ASM).
- Maintain liaison with startup leaders and project managers.
- Maintain close link with the following directorates (Operations Division, ESD, PMO, AAS, ADS, ASM, MED).
- Follow up on all outcomes from the IMP meeting.
- Follow up on remedial actions relating to project risks.
Training and Communication
- Support in the development of startup resources and SIRC knowledge management.
- Ensure all training needs for the planning section are submitted within the SANS Knowledge Management System.
- Ensure projects SIRCS, learnings, and risks are archived within the startup department archiving system.
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Support in monitoring day‑to‑day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes, considering leading practices, business‑environment changes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
People Management
- Actively participate in on‑the‑job training, mentoring, and coaching of subordinates.
- Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor workflow.
- Promote a high‑performance working environment embracing SANS values.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Project Management or equivalent.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, project management, aviation, or equivalent.
- Desirable: Held at least one ATC license in Tower, Approach or Area Control Center (ACC).
- Certification in Project Management, GACA regulations, Safety Management System, or Quality Management System.
