A healthcare organization in Saudi Arabia seeks an experienced nursing professional to provide clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of the highest quality nursing care. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, at least 5 years of post-graduate experience, and be fluent in both English and Arabic. This role involves not only nursing duties but also monitoring compliance with legislation and organizational standards, promoting patient-centered care, and participating in departmental leadership.
Job Description

Perform other duties related to the work as assigned by the Manager / supervisor as needed.
Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with Vendors, Physicians and Staff.
Maintains regulatory requirements, including all national and JCI regulations.

Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire, safety and infection control.
Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital

Resolves personnel concerns at the departmental level, utilizing the grievance process as required.

It is the duty of every employee to report any negative or abnormal or unexpected event / incident as soon as possible after its occurrence by filling the appropriate (OVR) form through Suwtak system.
Performs assessment / data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychobiologic and cognitive needs of the patient / family. Utilizes assessment data in formulating nursing diagnoses.
Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments of patients scheduled for day surgery procedures, including medical history review, physical examination, and medication reconciliation.
Review preoperative instructions with patients, including fasting requirements, medication management, and pre-procedure hygiene
Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team during procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Maintain a sterile field, anticipate surgeon's needs, and assist with surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
Monitor patients closely during the immediate postoperative period, assessing vital signs, pain levels, and recovery from anesthesia.
Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by explaining the process, obtaining consent, and addressing any concerns or questions.
Provide post-anesthesia care, including airway management, oxygen therapy, and pain management interventions.
Educate patients on pre-procedure instructions, including fasting requirements, medication protocols, and bowel preparation if necessary.
Assess patient readiness for the procedure, including reviewing medical history and ensuring appropriate pre-procedural assessments are completed
Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnoses and expected patient outcomes.
Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner by utilization of / adhere to pre-determined standards which define the structure, process, and desired patient outcomes of nursing process.
Evaluates patient response to care given by all health care team members, and the effects of systems, environment, and instrumentation on progress of patient toward expected outcomes.
Reformulates plan of care based on changing patient needs and evaluation of effectiveness of care provided.
Utilizes the Primary Nursing model in all aspects of the nursing process.
Demonstrates competency in psychomotor skills.
Identifies patient / family learning needs, implements appropriate measures to meet these needs and evaluates patient / family response to education related to hospitalization and discharge.
Performs all documentation functions in timely, accurate, and concise manner.
Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patient / family rights with respect for dignity and confidentiality.
Function with an awareness and application of safety issues and adheres to patient / staff safety policies as identified within the institution.
Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remains calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
Follow the protocols of preoperative and post-operative care accordingly
Adhere to the scope of service of the department eg : on call duty

Knowledgeable of the effects of medications, potential side effects, contraindications, and amount of medication to be administered.
The requisite skills include the ability to competently and safely administer the medication by the specified route, anticipate and recognize potential complications, recognize emergency situations, and institute emergency procedures.
Accountable for knowledge of medication and for ensuring proper safety measures are followed
Assist physician with manipulation of scope, polyp snare, cut polyps, cauterize polyps, dilations, bandings and other procedures as needed (Endoscopy)
Participates actively in staff development activities for unit and hospital personnel.
Demonstrates self-directed learning and participation in continuing education to meet own professional development. Recognized limitations and assertively seeks guidance in areas of uncertainty.
Participates in development and attainment of unit and hospital goals.
Demonstrates current knowledge of nursing research developments and utilizes findings in patient care as appropriate.
Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e., customer service, safety, compliance standards and all others
Follows and assists in the implementation and interpretation of policies and procedures
Monitor compliance with legislative requirements and organization polices and procedure and take appropriate action to correct any area of non-compliance
Reviews Policy & Procedure manuals on computer annually.
Attends and actively participates in meetings of committees as assigned. Assists in data collection for quality improvement
Attend 75% of all department meetings
