Role Purpose:

The SCADA Solutions Engineer is a key pre-sales technical and commercial role responsible for designing end-to-end Industrial Automation, Instrumentation, IoT, and BMS solutions. The role bridges customer requirements with technically sound, compliant, and profitable solutions, supporting business growth across Smart Cities, Water, Energy, and Industry 4.0 projects.

Top Priority Job Responsibilities:

1. Solution Design & Technical Leadership (Highest Priority)

  • Analyze client requirements, specifications, drawings, and tender documents to design compliant SCADA, PLC, DCS, RTU, Instrumentation, IoT, and BMS solutions.
  • Develop complete system architectures including I/O lists, control system design down to panel/MCC and final control elements.
  • Supervise and guide the AutoCAD team in preparing system drawings and schematics in line with design standards.
  • Ensure all designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead technical estimation and costing, including BOQs, I/O-based estimation, logistics considerations, and compliance statements.
  • Prepare technical submittals, proposals, and tender responses to RFPs/RFQs.
  • Support the sales team during bidding and tender clarification stages to secure commercially viable projects.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies to ensure optimal profitability.

3. Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary technical interface with clients during pre-sales, including technical meetings, site surveys, and design clarifications.
  • Collaborate closely with Key Account Managers to present solutions and support account strategies.
  • Ensure smooth technical handover to engineering and project teams post-award.
  • Select, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure technical alignment and cost optimization.
  • Maintain strong relationships with technology partners and suppliers.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in pre-sales / solutions engineering within Industrial Automation, SCADA, Instrumentation, IoT, and/or BMS.
  • Strong experience in tender analysis, system design, estimation, and proposal development.
  • Hands-on exposure to PLC, DCS, SCADA, RTUs, Instrumentation, BMS/DDC, data loggers, and LoRa/IoT technologies.
  • Experience with SAP / ERP-based estimation or costing tools is an advantage.
