Job summary

A leading energy services company in Dammam, KSA, is seeking a Shop Technician I to assist in manufacturing and servicing downhole tools. Responsibilities include assembling equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining the workshop. Preferred candidates will have mechanical experience, be able to operate warehouse machinery, and possess effective communication skills in English. This is a physically demanding role requiring flexibility and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification to operate warehouse machinery is required.
• Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, rebuild, and service downhole tools and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and specifications in the workshop.
• Inspect forklifts and overhead cranes daily.

Skills

Previous workshop or mechanical experience

Oilfield shop or warehouse experience

Ability to operate lift truck and reach style forklift

Proficient communication in English

Mechanically inclined

Certification to operate warehouse machinery

Job description

Primary Role Focus

Located in the Packers Plus workshop and warehouse in Dammam, KSA, the Shop Technician I will assist in the manufacturing, assembly and servicing of downhole tools according to established procedures, and support the overall process within the workshop facility. This role reports to the manufacturing or service supervisor or his designate.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Assemble, rebuild, and service downhole tools and equipment.
• Operate various tools and equipment in the assembly area.
• Follow safety procedures and outlined specifications.
• Inspect forklifts and overhead cranes daily.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
• Assist with facility or operations tasks as required.
• Be available for overtime and on-call duties.
• Ensure compliance with Packers Plus Health and Safety program.

Position Requirements

Experience and Skills

• Previous workshop or mechanical experience preferred.
• Oilfield shop or warehouse experience an asset.
• Must be able to operate lift truck and reach style forklift.
• Must be able to communicate with writing and speaking English.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Certification to operate warehouse machinery.

Education and Training

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Some heavy lifting and physical movement required.
• Reach and Counterbalance Lift Safety Certification.
• Holds a First Aid Training Certification.
• Subject to post-incident and reasonable suspicion drug & alcohol testing.
