Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Engineer to maintain project designs and oversee testing of electrical systems for EPC projects, primarily in the Oil/Gas sector. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in engineering, have over 5 years of related experience, and demonstrate strong documentation and project management skills. This role is critical for ensuring that processes are integrated into project designs effectively.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in EPC projects, specifically in Oil/Gas or Infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems and related testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee process and conceptual designs during proposal and project phases.
  • Create specific inspection checklists and test procedures for each project.
  • Conduct testing on electrical systems to ensure compatibility and safety.
  • Prepare reports on testing activities and submit lessons learned from the project.

Job description
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Maintain process and conceptual designs (feed package) during the proposal stage up to financial close and ensure that the feed package is carried over into successful Projects after award, also responsible for commissioning and start-up activities, by bringing in the process to the back end of the Project, during commissioning, performance testing and initial start-up to ensure that the feed design has been incorporated into the Project and complies with the process philosophy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilizing the master commissioning document library for creation of project specific inspection checklists and test procedures under the guidance of the department section head.
  • Test electrical systems and equipment using testing devices according to documented procedures based on the National Standards to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Arrange a weekly time schedule for his own activities with respect to the overall project frame.
  • Submit the red line drawings after finishing the commissioning of each system.
  • Reporting the testing tools used and the manpower of each activity through daily reports.
  • Submit the test reports on DMS.
  • Submit lessons learned in the project during the testing activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
  • A recognized Degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline from an accredited College or University or a professional license in an Engineering discipline or a sufficient number of specialized courses in relevant general Engineering or an appropriate Engineering discipline to meet the job requirements.

  • +5 years of work experience in the related field
Overall Experience
  • Solid background and expertise on EPC Projects, specifically on Oil/Gas, Utility and/or Infrastructure type Projects
