Job summary

Client of imploy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Riyadh to own the full software development lifecycle from concept through deployment. You will work with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver robust, scalable applications and set coding standards.

You will lead architectural discussions, drive best practices in CI/CD, testing, and security, and mentor mid-level and junior engineers while collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Python, C#, or Node.js) and a frontend framework (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Cloud and DevOps experience with Docker/Kubernetes; familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle from concept and design to testing and deployment You will work closely with product managers designers and other engineers to deliver robust maintainable and high-performance applications Your technical leadership will help drive best practices code quality and innovation across the team You will be expected to take ownership of complex features communicate technical trade-offs clearly and contribute to the overall technical roadmap

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and maintain high-quality scalable server-side and client-side code
• Lead architectural discussions and contribute to technical design documents
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define scope and estimate new features
• Write clean testable and well-documented code following industry best practices e g design patterns CI CD
• Conduct code reviews provide constructive feedback and mentor mid-level and junior engineers
• Troubleshoot debug and optimize existing systems for performance reliability and security
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and proactively propose improvements to the tech stack
• Participate in agile ceremonies sprint planning stand-ups retrospectives and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or Node.js) and one frontend framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Architecture: Solid understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and database design (SQL and NoSQL).
• Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Testing: Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end).
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication (verbal and written in English), and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Nice-to-Have: Experience with real-time systems, data streaming (Kafka), or big data technologies. Familiarity with modern authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT). Prior experience working in the fintech, e-commerce, or logistics sectors. Knowledge of Arabic (spoken) is a plus but not required.
