Job summary

Job description
Overview

Lead the planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring of large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project controls, advanced planning tools, and construction methodologies.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor, and update project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Lead the planning and scheduling efforts from project initiation through to completion.
  • Analyze project performance, identify risks and delays, and propose corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed baseline schedules and periodic updates.
  • Integrate cost and schedule data to support Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input on schedule impacts and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and management teams to ensure alignment of schedules.
  • Develop resource-loaded schedules and monitor productivity and resource utilization.
  • Generate progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all planning and scheduling work complies with organizational and contractual standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Engineering or a related field from a recognized university, with over 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s Degree (MSc) in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field from a recognized university, with over 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Active membership in a recognized chartered institution (e.g., PMI, AACE, CIOB, ICE, or equivalent) is required.
  • Proven experience in planning and scheduling of major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other planning tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and resource planning.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and performance measurement techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in preparing claims/delay analysis is an advantage.
