ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

The Software Development Manager is a‑on technical leader responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise software systems and integrations using Java, CoolGen, and API‑based web services. This role combines strong individual technical contribution with leadership of a small, high‑impact engineering team. The manager oversees the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and coding to deployment and operational support, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable solutions that align with organizational standards.

WHAT YOULL DO
  • Lead day‑to‑day development and integration activities while contributing directly to hands‑on coding and solution design.
  • Design, build, and maintain APIs and integration services that connect enterprise systems and eServices.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps engineers to ensure seamless build automation, deployment pipelines, and production reliability.
  • Develop new system features and enhancements, ensuring high performance, maintainability, and security.
  • Perform system troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis, applying permanent fixes and performance optimizations.
  • Establish and enforce software development standards, API security practices, and version‑control discipline.
  • Conduct technical reviews of code, architecture, and deployment processes to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, cybersecurity, and data‑protection requirements.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to plan releases, coordinate deployments, and ensure service continuity.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and system reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field in Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development and system integration for enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to combine‑on technical work with coordination of small, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Hands‑on leadership style with strong technical credibility and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, particularly in cross‑functional technical environments.
  • Demonstrated success delivering robust and secure software and integration solutions in production environments.
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset with a focus on reliability, scalability, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Ability to balance development, deployment, and operational responsibilities effectively within a small, agile team.
CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Strong proficiency in Java, CoolGen, and enterprise integration frameworks.
  • Expert‑level experience in API and web service development.
  • Solid understanding of microservices, SOA, and API lifecycle management.
  • Competence in database design, data integration, and system performance optimization.
