Job description

The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive data governance framework that ensures the integrity, quality, consistency, privacy, and compliance of data across the organization. The role positions data as a strategic enterprise asset to enable informed decision‑making, regulatory reporting, and digital transformation. He/she ensures full compliance with all applicable local and international data management regulations and standards throughout the data lifecycle. The role provides expert oversight and guidance on data governance best practices, including data classification, handling, protection, and ethical usage.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across all business functions.
  • Lead the adoption of data governance principles to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Establishes policies to define ownership and accountabilities for the quality and security of critical data.
  • Define and monitor key data quality metrics (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency).
  • Implement data quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of data‑related issues.
  • Identifies impact of various stages of the data lifecycle on business value.
  • Assures compliance with KSA data governance regulations and policies.
  • Anticipate legal implications of data handling processes.
  • Rolls‑out defined data governance procedures and standards across the Bank.
  • Develop internal standards to guide data capture and validation, access, usage, masking, storage, archival and retention.
  • Lays out implementation approach and monitoring of data governance rules and policies to all the operational datasets of the Bank.
  • Collaborates with different functions to implement data governance policies and standards.
  • Initiate process and programs to mitigate business risk of poor data quality and practices.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by line manager related to the nature of the work.
  • Enforce, incorporate, and comply with all necessary controls and related information security policies, procedures, practices, training, reporting, personal due diligence and vigilance, within departmental/unit activities and operations.

  • Have a tertiary level qualification from an internationally recognized institution.

Years & Nature of Experience

  • Recommended to be 5 to 7 years of experience in data management governance.
  • Has developed Internal data policies and processes.
  • Has understanding of categories of critical data and corresponding levels of accountability and security required.
  • Has articulated relationships between data handling and business value and demonstrated advisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of implications of ethical laws, policies and regulations that impact data management.
  • Up‑to‑date on industry developments and emerging issues in data.
