Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design projects, including conceptualization, detailed design, and implementation, ensuring adherence to project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
  • Develop electrical design concepts, specifications, and drawings based on client needs, applicable codes, and standards.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, power distribution system design, lighting design, and equipment selection.
  • Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software for drafting, modeling, and analysis.
  • Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather information for design development and troubleshooting.
  • Review and evaluate technical proposals, specifications, and submittals from vendors and contractors.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.
  • Collaborate with project managers to establish project scopes, budgets, and timelines, and ensure timely delivery of design deliverables.
  • Participate in design review meetings, client presentations, and discussions to address technical issues and provide updates on project progress.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering design.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards throughout the design process.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a focus on building systems and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools, or ETAP.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power distribution, lighting design, and electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE).
  • Experience with building information modeling (BIM) and integrated design processes is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex electrical systems and develop practical solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in design documentation and deliverables.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading electrical design projects from concept to completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated capacity to mentor and develop junior staff.
