Job description

Atkins has been commissioned to embed a Construction Project Management team into a key client's office based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The team has been in place since June 2012.

The client operates within the Defence Sector and is implementing a SAR 2bn civil/infrastructure program over the next 3 to 4 years.

The Atkins team is responsible for managing the client's construction program, including the appointment of designers and contractors, reviewing, reporting, and auditing consultants/contractors submissions. This role reports to the Design Manager.

Technical Requirements - Essential
  • Degree qualified in core design discipline (Electrical)
  • Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
  • Candidate must be Western educated
  • Minimum of 5 years of postgraduate professional experience, with at least 2 years in a similar senior position
  • At least 2 years experience on multi-disciplinary design projects
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable international design standards
  • Experience with technical design software
  • Sound technical skill set
  • Commercial awareness regarding design advice
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety best practices
  • Administrative skills

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
Desirable
  • Experience of Saudi Arabia building design standards
  • Western candidate preferred
