Overview

The Senior Associate is a mid-level role focused on delivering high-quality analysis, shaping outputs, and coordinating across EMI workstreams. This position blends analytical depth with increasing responsibility for structuring deliverables and supporting junior team members. Senior Associates act as both contributors and quality enablers, ensuring that EMI products meet institutional standards and reflect emerging stakeholder priorities.

Major Accountabilities
  • Market Analysis & Insights
  • Conduct or oversee rigorous analysis on assigned topics.
  • Frame insights and implications clearly for a range of audiences.
  • Lead the preparation of dashboards, reports, or stakeholder-facing memos.
  • Support the design and scoping of new analytical workstreams.
  • Stay up to date on market developments and ensure team outputs are timely and relevant.
  • Coordinate closely with team leads to align priorities and timelines.
  • Guide junior staff in structuring their contributions and improving outputs.
  • Provide review-level input to internal drafts, figures, and presentations.
  • Represent EMI in cross-departmental discussions when delegated.
  • Learning & Growth
  • Mentor Analysts and Associates, supporting their development and onboarding.
  • Deepen subject-matter expertise and contribute to institutional knowledge assets.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and review protocols.
  • Contribute to the improvement of workflows, tracking systems, and documentation templates.
  • Related Assignments
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed in support of EMI's mission.
Recommended Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • PhD degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • Prior experience of working in a consulting capacity is a must.
  • Experience in the energy sector and/or public policy is preferred.
  • Experience in writing briefing notes, reports and reviews.
