Job Purpose:
To lead, develop, and oversee the implementation of NITI’s health, safety, and environmental management programs in compliance with national regulations and institutional standards. The Senior Safety Specialist ensures a safe training and working environment across all facilities, workshops, and operations, promoting a proactive safety culture within the institute.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Management & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and manuals in accordance with Saudi labor and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections of training areas, laboratories, and workshops.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, NFPA, and other relevant codes).
- Review contractors’ safety plans and ensure alignment with NITI standards.
2. Incident Prevention & Investigation
- Lead investigations for incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain incident reports, statistics, and trend analyses to support continuous improvement.
- Implement preventive measures and monitor their effectiveness.
3. Training & Awareness
- Design and deliver safety induction programs for employees, trainers, and students.
- Conduct safety awareness campaigns, emergency drills, and toolbox talks.
- Support the integration of safety concepts into training programs and curriculum.
4. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and evacuation procedures.
- Coordinate fire safety systems, drills, and liaison with civil defense authorities.
- Ensure all first-aid and firefighting equipment is regularly inspected and certified.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience in industrial safety, preferably within a training or oil & gas/industrial environment.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, OSHA are required.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi regulatory frameworks (Civil Defense, Ministry of Labor, etc.).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic is preferred.
