Job Title: Safety Officer – Chemical Plant
Location: Saudi

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety programs in compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments within plant facilities.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals in accordance with environmental and safety standards.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents to identify causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to employees and contractors on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date safety documentation, permits, and compliance records as per legal requirements.
- Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and production teams to address safety concerns and reduce hazards.
- Monitor usage and maintenance of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities during safety inspections and audits.
- Lead emergency response drills, fire safety training, and evacuation planning.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering or Science with a specialisation in Safety, Environment, or Industrial Safety.
- Mandatory: Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute (as per Factories Act / State Rules).
- Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, and HAZMAT handling will be an added advantage.
Skills Required
- In-depth knowledge of chemical plant safety standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Strong understanding of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for incident investigations.
- Ability to handle emergency situations with calmness and efficiency.
- Computer literacy for maintaining safety records and preparing reports.
