Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Safety Officer to develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures across our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with national and international regulations, and promote a strong safety culture among all employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy & Procedure Development: Establish and update occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with relevant local and international laws and regulations.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments of facilities, practices, and procedures to identify hazards and recommend effective corrective and preventive measures.
  • Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver safety training programs and awareness initiatives covering workplace safety, emergency response, and safe equipment usage.
  • Inspection & Auditing: Perform periodic inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards, and verify the safety of equipment and facilities.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents and near‑miss incidents, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and prepare detailed incident reports.
  • Emergency Management: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure continuous compliance with all applicable occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and requirements.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present periodic safety reports, including risk findings, incident analysis, and performance KPIs, to management.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Monitor the maintenance and functionality of safety systems and equipment, such as fire protection and gas systems.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field, certified as a professional/practitioner in Occupational Health & Safety.

Strong knowledge of national and international health and safety standards and governmental regulations.

Ability to identify hazardous materials and chemicals.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, especially in critical situations.

Good analytical and observational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.

Ability to develop analytical reports and safety documentation.
