Job description

The Rigger Level-1 is responsible for inspecting, selecting and configuring cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, shackles etc according to weight and size of load to be moved and providing direction to the crane operator and rigging crew.

Responsibilities and Skills

1. Ability to perform site surveys, task analysis, critical lift calculations, and operator level maintenance on assigned crane, rigging components, and when required, splice and repair slings, wire rope, and tackle.
2. Analytical skills to perform lift calculations and procedures.
3. Specifies location for movement and erection of hoists and crane, using knowledge of various methods of sliding and lifting equipments.
4. Can controls skilled and work crews engaged in all activities concerned with the rigging.
5. Should able to demonstrate the good organizational skills, following procedures and work practices, and developing improvement and train subordinates where necessary.
6. Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures. Should be competent in reading / speaking and understanding the drawings etc.
7. Must be a good communicator. Able to give instructions in an efficient and effective way to his workforce. Supervises and coordinate activities of workers engaged in all rigging and lifting activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and method statements.
8. Supervises and coordinate activities of workers engaged in, for example, erecting vessels, columns, hoisting machinery & equipment such as structural beams, metal tanks, piping replacements in brown field jobs etc.
9. Compliance with the highest level of safety during all stages of project execution to avoid any type of incidents and or accidents.
