Key details about the role and the candidate
To provide support to the Management in monitoring the implementation of the HSE management system and standards on rigs as required by the company and client’s policies and regulations.
Primary responsibilities
- Ensure implementation and enforcement of the H&P and Saudi Aramco (SA) safety policies and procedures. Keep up‑to‑date H&P and SA policies and procedures at the rig location.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct SET awareness and hazard awareness training as requested by Tool Pushers and Rig Managers (DS) in consultation with the Division HSE Coordinator and Field HSE Supervisors.
- Organize and conduct safety training sessions and emergency drills for rig personnel.
- Ensure all personnel are trained in emergency response procedures.
- Assist Tool Pushers/DS/HSEFS in the incident investigation to determine root causes.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with drilling operations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and other safety‑related activities. Ensure all emergency equipment is maintained and readily accessible.
- Prepare regular safety performance reports (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) for management review.
- Promote a safety‑first culture and encourage open communication of safety concerns.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and available. Monitor the condition, and adequacy of HSE‑related equipment on and advise Tool Pusher for corrective action.
- Conduct regular checks on personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the development of new safety initiatives and programs.
- Monitor environmental compliance and implement measures to minimize the rig’s environmental impact.
- Check the display, condition, and currency of all HSE‑related policies, posters, and procedures at the rig site and keep them in presentable order. Presence of any obsolete documents, or policies to be advised to the Tool Pusher.
- Conduct HSE induction for new employees.
- Monitor Active monitoring implementation and use of Rig App tablets.
- Ensure that the audit plan is respected and followed by the Head of Departments. You will participate as an adviser to the Audit Team Leader when requested.
- Communication of weekly audit updates to base management in the list of task.
- Inform your line of responsibility, about any non‑conformances or hazardous situations, and try to correct them immediately.
- As RSTC, you will train and motivate the crew, to report all unsafe acts or conditions (including the senior staff).
- Assists the Person in Charge for accident investigation and follow‑ups. You will be included in all investigation teams, as an adviser, and will give your input to the investigation team leader.
- The HSE reporting requirements will be maintained and reported for both H&P and client requirements.
- Maintain compliance with Aramco/H&P emergency drill requirements in alignment with the client matrix.
- Take personal responsibility for and demonstrate leadership in HSE. Play a mentoring, coaching, and supporting role in safety meetings and the safety program.
- Promote and empower all personnel in the use of “Time Out for Safety” in all operations undertaken.
- Facilitate and support rigs in the close‑out of safety actions from client audits.
Experience
- Proven experience within the role of rig QHSE
