Short Description

Job Purpose

Facilitate the development of the facility maintenance strategy and solve reliability and availability losses through application of technology and tools to enable the plant to meet its business plan and strategy.

Functional Duties
  • Achieve AC and AMR business objectives.
  • Facilitate in the implementation of the RCI process to include application of the cause- and-effect methodology in all areas where reliability opportunities are identified and where the RCI triggers are met.
  • Develop and maintain a model that identifies the unit operations, equipment, process and value of opportunities for improvement. (i.e., the TICA Evaluation model, RCM or as complicated as a detailed SPAR model).
  • Evaluate and quantify the impact projects such as equipment reconfigurations, design changes, equipment quality, etc., to enable to meet customer needs.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of individual aspects of the PPM program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and PPM.
  • Utilize asset and analyze cost data to develop and prioritize a list of reliability opportunities.
  • Evaluate/validate the impact of corrective actions that impact availability/reliability and leverage solutions across a business or site, if appropriate.
  • Provide reliability input to project methodology activities and participate in FEL and VIP activities as appropriate; Process Simplification, Value Engineering, Maintenance Strategy, Reliability Modeling, etc.
  • Use reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, RCI, and FMEA) to increase AC and AMR.
  • Participate in plant health study and efforts to implement corrective action to maintain or improve plant health.
  • Apply long-term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles in conjunction with the discipline teams and technical resource networks to design reliability into purchasing requirements.
  • Use long-term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to optimize spare parts stock levels in conjunction with the MRO function, Discipline Activity Specialists.
  • Provide equipment reliability and performance data to the technical resource networks for evaluation of equipment performance, vendor performance, and modifications to MET Level 1.
  • Develop and implement operating discipline to improve reliability and participate in reliability network activities.
  • Utilize Six Sigma tools and methodologies to improve reliability and assist the PPM Coordinator in setting up the PPM program.
  • Ensure that all principles, procedures and practices strictly comply with EH&S guidelines, regulatory and permit requirements.
  • Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor / manager.
