Job description

The Radiotherapy Specialist is primarily responsible for administering therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation using advanced level linear accelerators and treatment units, while ensuring accurate patient setup and documentation. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality, precise treatment according to the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.

Key Duties and Expertise
  • Advanced Treatments: Expertise in IMRT, VMAT, SRS, SBRT, FSRT, and TBI, including complex tumor localization and tracking procedures.
  • Patient Simulation & Setup: Accurately simulate and position patients, modifying setups as needed. Customize and safely utilize immobilization devices (e.g., Vac-Loks, aquaplastic masks).
  • Imaging & Verification: Confirm patient position using advanced imaging technologies like On-Board Imaging (OBI), portal, and Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), and utilize Real-Time Position Management (RPM) systems.
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Perform QA warm-up tests on treatment units and simulators, and execute thorough quality "time outs" prior to treatment delivery.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed electronic and/or paper documentation using treatment software such as ARIA.
  • Patient-Centric Care: Provide basic patient education, assess patients for unusual reactions, and ensure all interactions are conducted with dignity, compassion, and respect, promoting personalized, coordinated care.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Radiotherapy.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year as a Radiation Therapist.

Licensure

Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) License, Ministry of Health (MOH) License, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
