Job summary

A leading airline company is looking for a professional to ensure the continued airworthiness of its aircraft fleet through inspections and compliance audits. Responsibilities include conducting surveillance inspections, reviewing aircraft logbooks, and monitoring maintenance documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aeronautical engineering and significant practical maintenance experience. Fluent English and Arabic are essential. This role is based in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a certified inspection role.
  • Experience with contract maintenance and GACAR Part 145 regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Required Inspection Items as delegated by the Chief Inspector.
  • Conduct ramp and station surveillance inspections.
  • Review and certify aircraft logbooks and maintenance packages.
  • Identify and report technical discrepancies.
  • Act as a witness for critical tests and inspections.
  • Conduct product audits on all CMOs.
  • Liaise with Engineering and Maintenance Planning departments.

Job description
Job Purpose

Ensure the continued airworthiness of the aircraft fleet through scheduled and unscheduled inspections, verification of technical records, and ongoing surveillance of maintenance activities. Overseas and audits all maintenance performed by CMOs and GACAR, ensuring strict compliance with Air Arabia’s maintenance manuals, GACAR requirements, and contractual obligations.

Key Result Responsibilities
  • Ensures compliance with all Required Inspection Items (RII) as delegated by the Chief Inspector, maintaining adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Conducts ramp and station surveillance inspections to verify maintenance practices, cleanliness, and procedural compliance.
  • Reviews and certifies aircraft logbooks, maintenance packages, and release‑to‑service documents in line with GACAR Part 43 requirements.
  • Identifies and reports technical discrepancies in records, components, or aircraft condition to ensure timely corrective action.
  • Acts as a witness for critical tests and inspections performed by CMOs.
  • Conducts product audits on all CMOs to evaluate maintenance quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains accuracy of the Approved Vendor List (AVL) by updating vendor status based on performance and compliance.
Key Result Responsibilities – Continued
  • Liaises with Engineering, Maintenance Planning, and Safety departments to resolve quality‑related findings.
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive audit schedule for all contracted maintenance providers (Line and Heavy Maintenance).
  • Performs planned and ad‑hoc audits, inspections, and surveillance of CMO facilities and processes.
  • Issues non‑conformities (NCs) and reviews Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to ensure effective closure and compliance.
  • Monitors the quality and completeness of maintenance documentation received from CMOs.
  • Serves as the primary contact for all quality‑related issues arising from contract maintenance and repair activities.
Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)
  • Diploma or Degree in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English & Arabic Languages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Formal training in Quality Auditing (e.g., Lead Auditor course).
  • GACAR Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License or equivalent (e.g., EASA Part‑66 B1/B2 license) on an A320 aircraft type.
  • In‑depth knowledge of GACAR Parts 43, 121, and the operator's Maintenance Manual (MOM).
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a certified inspection role.
  • Experience with contract maintenance and GACAR Part 145 regulations.
