Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality & Food Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality and food safety systems that ensure our products consistently meet regulatory requirements and exceed customer expectations. This includes establishing and enforcing HACCP, GMP, and GHP standards; leading internal and external audits; delivering food safety training; and maintaining comprehensive documentation such as SOPs, manuals, and policies. The ideal candidate will act as a key liaison between operations, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure continuous improvement in food safety and quality standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and deliver comprehensive food safety and quality training programs across the organization.
  • Create, update, and maintain all relevant documentation, including SOPs, manuals, policies, and procedures related to food safety and quality.
  • Plan and conduct regular internal food safety audits and lead third-party regulatory and certification audits.
  • Monitor and verify all incoming and outgoing products to ensure compliance with both quality and food safety standards.
  • Continuously review and update food safety procedures and documentation to align with evolving regulations and industry best practices.
  • Support procurement by training and educating suppliers to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations and VIP teams to proactively address any food safety or quality-related issues.
  • Oversee sanitation processes and facility maintenance to guarantee compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all food safety and quality processes and maintain comprehensive records for internal and external audits.
  • Liaise with customers to fully understand their quality and safety requirements and integrate them into internal quality control processes.
  • Define raw material quality standards for suppliers and continuously monitor compliance and performance.
  • Evaluate supplier food safety systems, track ongoing performance, and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collect client feedback, participate in regular review meetings, prepare detailed reports, and support external auditors as required.
  • Develop and enforce quality standards that ensure employee safety during all stages of the production process.
  • Track corrective action plans and ensure they are effectively implemented and documented.
  • Lead the design, documentation, and implementation of robust food safety processes to ensure ongoing product safety.
  • Head internal food safety, quality, and process audit programs, ensuring continuous compliance and improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and ensure compliance with SFDA regulations and other relevant food safety legislation.
  • Identify, document, and implement best practices and continuous improvement opportunities within the food safety and quality system.
  • Manage the Sanitation Department to ensure effective cleaning and hygiene practices across all operations.
  • Lead the Food Safety Team, ensuring that all processes required for the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) are effectively established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Promote awareness of food safety and customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Develop and oversee Prerequisite Programs (PRPs), ensuring their effective implementation, communication, and periodic review.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • HACCP Certification is required.
  • FSSC Certification and experience with FSSC 22000 standards.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
  • FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Certification in GMP / GHP / GDP standards.
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining SOPs.
  • Strong knowledge of SFDA regulations, food safety management systems, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills with a proven ability to manage audits and lead cross-functional teams.
