Job summary

A manufacturing company in Dammam is seeking a Head of Testing Department. You will oversee quality standards and ensure compliance in the SF6 products testing department. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of welding and quality control methodologies will be beneficial. Overview

Responsible for managing the SF6 products testing department, ensuring adherence to quality standards, health and safety, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee the testing department, including HV FPY and deep investigation of results.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety aspects.
  • Investigate complaints and prepare First Investigation Reports (FIR) for returned units.
  • Implement ECN’s, conduct process audits, and circulate FPY, leak, and high voltage test data.
  • Coordinate with various departments to perform pre-dispatch inspections.
  • Collaborate with Supplier QA & Fabrication to address quality and fabrication issues.
  • Train new recruits and enhance the skills of existing personnel.
  • Monitor testing personnel to ensure tests follow Quality Control Instructions.
  • Raise requisitions and communicate the need for new testing instruments.
  • Manage calibration of SF6 product instruments/equipment from third parties and in-house.
  • Verify jigs & fixtures for SF6 products.
  • Maintain records of tests & inspections and archive documentation.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects related to products/processes.
  • Motivate subordinates and proactively identify potential risks to implement preventive actions.
Job Context
  • Ensure products and processes meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements within a manufacturing, engineering, or production environment.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including production, design, supply chain, and customer service.
  • Balance office-based analysis with on-site inspections and testing.
  • Apply quality control methodologies (Six Sigma, ISO standards, lean manufacturing), root cause analysis, and CAPA.
  • Adapt to evolving industry standards and technological advances while fostering a culture of quality across all departments.
Job Dimensions

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).

  • Cross‑functional collaboration with manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, and customer service teams.
  • Reporting line: Usually reports to the Quality Manager or Plant Manager.
Key Accountabilities
  • D365 System implementation & standardization.
  • Achieve defect‑free incoming parts.
  • Implement ECN at supplier end through proper notification.
  • Approve new parts through proper evaluation and testing.
  • In‑process trouble‑shooting related to parts problem.
  • Train inspectors on inspection equipment and achieve SMART targets set for the supplier quality team.
  • Facilitate a safe working environment and implement H&S guidelines and regulations.
  • Optimize inspection levels to ensure the most economical cost of poor quality.
  • Work closely with the L.E. group supplier, Quality, Logistics and Purchasing team.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required to maintain and improve efficiency, quality, and service.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and symbol.
  • Basic office software knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant skills.
  • Experience in testing measurement analysis drawings.
  • Raising ECRs and supporting production to resolve day‑to‑day issues without failures.
  • MIG/TIG welding proficiency.
