Job summary

A leading engineering company is seeking a QHSE Officer based in Neom, Saudi Arabia. This freelance role involves promoting a healthy work environment and ensuring quality, health, safety, and environmental practices on offshore projects. The successful candidate will report on project-related QHSE matters, engage the workforce in health and safety initiatives, and conduct inspections to maintain compliance. A relevant MSC/MSc degree and strong communication skills are essential for this position.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good knowledge & experience with MS Office.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • MSC/MSc Degree in relevant engineering or equivalent through experience.

Responsibilities

  • Project QHSE reporting and communications with Project management.
  • Participate in onboard and on-site meetings.
  • Investigate incidents and non-conformities.
  • Engage workforce in HSE matters and campaigns.
  • Carry out HSE inspections and ensure proper reporting.

Description: The clients objective is to provide a healthy work environment, to promote sound work practices and a healthy lifestyle for everyone involved in our business. QHSE is therefore one of the supportive departments that is involved in all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters on our projects, vessels, and in HQ. As a project QHSE engineer you will be part of the team that is on site on one of our offshore projects worldwide, responsible for the maintenance and control of QHSE-S practices on site, as well as inspecting all activities and equipment to reassure proper operation and implementation of procedures.

Primary Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Project QHSE reporting, KPI and communications with Project management and vessel
  • Participating in meetings and toolboxes onboard and on site
  • Investigation incidents & non-conformities
  • Engage the supervisors and workforce to actively participate in HSE matters and campaigns
  • Carry out HSE inspections on the work floor and ensure proper reporting, communication and follow-up of the findings
  • Management SHOC cards on board/onsite
Technical profile requirements:
  • Provide support to the project team for all QHSE related matters
  • Ensure that personnel use the latest versions of PQMP, PHSEMP, ITP, MST, RA, etc.
Non-Technical profile requirements:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good knowledge & experience with MS Office
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Any other languages are a plus
Methodology/Certification requirements:
  • MSC/MSc Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering OR equivalent through experience OR MSc Degree Safety Engineering, prevention advisor level 1
