Your role

Job Description/Mission

To further enhance customer satisfaction and ensure high-quality project management and technical support, currently, we are seeking an application/proposal engineer to join the Engineered Solutions team in Saudi Arabia.

As a proposal/application engineer, you are responsible for the on-time creation of proposals "quotations for non-standard/engineered AIF products. On the request of Customer Centers from the region assigned to you or within the application assigned to you and per the applicable QA procedures you’ll offer a correctly described and clearly defined content, which can be delivered within a realistic period and at the predetermined profit margins.

This means, among other things, that you independently assess the feasibility of a project in all its facets and translate specific customer needs into our product portfolio.

On the one hand, you’ll make a cost/benefit analysis, based on the material and engineering cost of the requested, and the price levels and delivery times achievable on the market on the other hand.

You will gain your knowledge through daily contacts within the Engineered Solutions department(s) and through interaction with other departments within the Oil-free Air division and with other proposal teams within Engineered Solutions OFA.

Externally, you maintain contacts with suppliers, as well as Customer Centers, Application Groups, and other Engineered Solutions entities, inspectors, and (end) customers.

After transferring a project to the contract office according to the applicable steps of the internal Order Management Process, you will continue to support where necessary and process technical and financial feedback in further quotations.

You maintain a database of all your assignments and follow up on their status.

In addition to your operational proposal work, you will receive additional assignments to support the Customer Centers (e.g. developing total concepts and creating price lists) and you will become a competence center for one or more product ranges. You will also actively participate in improvement projects that will benefit the general operation of the organization, as well as projects specifically related to the Oil & Gas business.

To succeed, you will need

Knowledge/Educational requirements
  • Technical background, level bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Electromechanics), or equivalent through experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in reading and interpreting specifications (type Oil & Gas projects) is a plus
  • Fluent communicator in English, Arabic, and other languages is an advantage
  • 5 years of experience in a technical environment (preferably within Oil-free Air or GAP)
  • Interested in IT applications and their integration in the department
