Job description

Job Title : Project Planner

Location : Jeddah, KSA. We prefer / consider candidates with Substation experience only.

You will manage and support the Bid / Tender and, if required, Project Delivery teams with producing and reporting cost and resource loaded programmes/schedules in Primavera P6 format, for the purpose of coordinating works with sub-contractors and other third parties.

What will you do?
  • Produce and manage tender programme in Primavera P6 according to the scope of works, client expectations, project objectives and deliverables, working closely with the MEA tendering team and the various disciplines supporting each tender up to the tender award.
  • Develop the tender programme in co‑ordination with the Project Team into a fully integrated baseline programme in line with agreed WBS and in accordance with the client's project requirements.
  • Support the project manager throughout all the project phases by generating standard monthly/weekly reports, variance reports and raising delay flags as and when required.
  • Optimize working programme to meet project objectives covering design, procurement, enabling, construction, commissioning, handover and client key dates as appropriate.
  • Review and validate construction methodologies, resource and cost loading, activity durations, schedule logic, float allocation and critical path identification, including those within supplier submissions.
  • Administer the Risk and Opportunities process for and on behalf of the project team, including adequate Monte Carlo analysis and ‘What If’ scenario planning support.
  • Interface with other functions, such as engineers and construction team to build programmes.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to develop their works within the programme.
  • Liaise with the Tendering Manager and attend weekly team reviews to discuss progress of the tender in development and address any issues that arise.
  • Control and capture any variations or changes to the programme or scope of the project. Provide advice on the schedule impact of proposed changes and integrate approved changes into the programme.
  • Ensure that all project deadlines, internally and externally, are completed on time and that the reports are accurate and consistent.
Experience And Education Required
  • 8+ years planning experience on multi‑disciplinary projects (Substation / Power Grid).
  • Educated to College / Degree level (or equivalent) with HV substation construction experience (including Civil and Erection).
  • Computer literacy – minimum Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MSP.
  • Demonstrable knowledge / experience of successful project delivery of complex projects with multiple interfaces.
  • Should have Power Generation Industry (specifically HV substations) & civils construction experience; HND or Degree (or equivalent).
  • Conversant with NEC Option A & C contracts.
  • Can build a programme in P6 from scratch.
