Job summary

A global leader in fasteners, located in Medina, is seeking a Project Manager to lead automotive projects. You will manage cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery on time and within budget while meeting stringent quality standards. The ideal candidate has at least five years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.

Essential Functions

Lead the planning, execution, and completion of projects within the automotive industry, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This includes managing resources, coordinating teams, and communicating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables; developing project plans, schedules, and budgets; identifying and securing necessary resources.
  • Assembling and leading cross‑functional teams; facilitating communication and collaboration; providing guidance and support to team members; resolving conflicts and issues.
  • Identifying and engaging with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams; managing expectations and communication; ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Identifying and assessing potential risks and issues; developing mitigation strategies; monitoring and communicating risk levels throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Developing and managing project budgets; tracking expenses; identifying cost‑saving opportunities; ensuring projects stay within budget.
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules; monitoring progress against deadlines; identifying, addressing potential delays, and leading escalation process when necessary; ensuring projects are completed on time.
  • Preparing regular project status reports; maintaining project documentation; ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date project records throughout project lifecycles.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement; implementing best practices; contributing to the overall effectiveness of project management within the organization.
  • Driving team activities to identify proper tools, methods, and gauging to support a flawless launch, safety and long‑term production goals.
  • Ensuring that products meet stringent automotive quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that customer needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing procurement of all necessary materials (tools, gauging, components and outside processing).
  • Ensuring compliance with all IATF 16949 requirements, policies, and PMO directives.
  • Providing support to management, sales, and customers throughout the launch process.
  • Providing technical support throughout product life cycles.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Project Management experience.
Experience and Background
  • Minimum five years’ engineering related experience in a fastener/cold forming environment.
  • Five years’ experience with ISO/IATF Quality systems and APQP.
  • Proficiency with Windows applications (MS Project, Excel, Word) and database management systems required.
  • Demonstrated results using business management skills and excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement.
