Job Purpose:
To lead the strategic sourcing strategy and execution for the operational category across the organization.
The role involves developing long-term category strategies, managing high-value and complex negotiations, and establishing robust supplier partnerships that support overall procurement objectives.
The Senior Manager is accountable for delivering cost savings, innovation, risk mitigation, and supplier performance improvements, while ensuring stakeholder alignment and driving category transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Planning
- Lead the development and implementation of long-term strategic sourcing strategies for the operational category.
- Translate organizational goals into actionable procurement and category plans.
- Drive the Strategic Agreements department’s roadmap and ensure alignment with corporate procurement strategy.
- Oversee category transformation initiatives and recommend strategic projects to meet evolving business needs.
2. Policies, Governance, and Improvement
- Provide thought leadership on sourcing policies and best practices.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, automation, and digital sourcing tools.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and internal policies while maintaining operational excellence.
3. Budgeting & Reporting
- Own the budgeting process for the operational category, ensuring cost targets and savings objectives are achieved.
- Report progress to senior leadership and advise on sourcing performance, risk, and supplier-related issues.
4. People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of sourcing professionals.
- Build cross-functional sourcing teams and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Contribute to succession planning, capability building, and workforce development.
- Evaluate team performance and provide strategic guidance for professional growth.
5. Functional Accountabilities
- Drive strategic sourcing strategies and the roadmap for the operational category across all business units.
- Manage end-to-end category management including supplier selection, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary contact for executive-level stakeholders regarding operational procurement.
- Utilize analytics and data-driven insights for decision-making, demand forecasting, and supplier optimization.
- Oversee high-impact negotiations and manage strategic contracts for value realization.
- Define governance frameworks and KPIs for strategic suppliers.
- Collaborate with Procurement Excellence and Vendor Management to optimize vendor portfolios and mitigate supply risk.
- Drive innovation by identifying new suppliers, technologies, and process improvements.
- Ensure sourcing activities align with risk management, legal, compliance, and ESG standards.
- Represent procurement in executive committees and project boards.
- Monitor global and regional market trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
- (Preferred) Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, PMP).
Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years in procurement/sourcing.
- At least 4–5 years in a leadership role managing operational categories.
- Proven success in leading strategic sourcing and transformation programs.
- Strong experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
