Job description
Job Description

The Marketing Procurement Manager will be responsible for owning Tahaluf’s marketing and media services procurement category, covering flagship events such as LEAP, Cityscape Global, Black Hat MEA, and Money20 / 20 Middle East. The role reports directly into the Head of Procurement for Tahaluf, with dotted-line reporting into both the Group Marketing Procurement Director (UK) and the Vice President of Marketing for Tahaluf.

This structure ensures the role delivers maximum value at a regional level (supporting Tahaluf’s marketing priorities), while also leveraging Informa’s global MSAs and consolidated spend to drive efficiency and consistency across the wider group.

Above all, we are seeking someone from a marketing background — ideally with hands‑on experience in marketing management, media planning, or digital — who understands the industry cost structures. The procurement part of the role is important, but the ability to challenge and validate marketing costs (particularly in media buying, production, and digital) is the critical success factor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Ownership : Own the marketing and media services procurement category for Tahaluf, developing sourcing strategies across creative agencies, media buying, digital platforms, PR, events, and production suppliers.
  • Portfolio Coverage : Partner with marketing teams across Tahaluf’s flagship events — including LEAP, Cityscape Global, Black Hat MEA, and Money20 / 20 Middle East — to ensure procurement delivers value aligned to event objectives.
  • Marketing Costing Expertise : Apply deep understanding of media buying, production, and digital marketing cost structures to benchmark proposals, challenge supplier rates, and secure best‑value outcomes.
  • Supplier Relationship Management : Manage day‑to‑day supplier performance against KPIs and SLAs, while driving consolidation and efficiency.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management : Own the full lifecycle of contracts — drafting, negotiation, execution, and renewal — ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and commercial advantage.
  • RFP Leadership : Lead end‑to‑end RFP processes, from documentation design and tender management through to evaluation and negotiation.
  • Stakeholder Management : Build strong, trust‑based relationships with senior stakeholders in Marketing, Procurement, and Finance, ensuring alignment on budgets, supplier strategy, and commercial outcomes.
  • Systems & Governance : Ensure robust use of SAP and procurement processes, partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Data Protection to safeguard Tahaluf’s interests.
  • Global Leverage : Align with the Group Marketing Procurement Director (UK) to maximise the benefits of Informa’s global MSAs and consolidated spend.
  • Performance Reporting : Deliver regular reports on savings, supplier performance, and adoption of global MSAs.
  • KPIs / Accountability : The primary KPI is to realise significant cost savings across Tahaluf’s marketing procurement categories. Secondary measures include supplier performance and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Admin Oversight : May provide light supervision or direction to one procurement admin role (if assigned).

  • Strong understanding of sourcing principles, category management, and supplier governance.
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance against KPIs.
  • Commercial acumen with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with commercial contracts, risk management, and collaboration with legal / compliance functions.
  • Knowledge of procurement tools and source‑to‑contract platforms (e.g., Coupa, SAP).
  • Exposure to the events and exhibitions industry supply chain an advantage.
