Job Description

This is a remote position.

Position Overview

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing procurement activities remotely, with a focus on materials and related subcontracted works. The role requires strong technical knowledge, vendor management skills, and effective communication to support the Business Units (BU) and ensure timely and cost‑effective sourcing of goods and services, sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for projects and operations. This role combines technical engineering knowledge with strong procurement and vendor management skills to ensure cost‑effective, timely, and high‑quality purchasing aligned with project specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily review and prioritize open Purchase Requests (PRs), considering critical and long‑lead materials, and identify potential vendors.
  • Source, prequalify, and evaluate vendors, suppliers and subcontractors based on capability, quality, cost, and compliance.
  • Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs), respond to vendor clarifications, evaluate offers, and conduct detailed technical and commercial analyses. Address any mismatches or non‑compliance and request revised offers as necessary.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms and warranties with vendors.
  • Prepare detailed technical and commercial comparison sheets to evaluate supplier offers and support decision‑making.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments (engineering, project management, and finance) to ensure timely receipt of purchased materials and services in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage vendor relationships, and resolve disputes or delays.
  • Track and follow up on payment progress with vendors and internal finance teams.
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of required materials and services and prepare progress reports to track supplier performance and ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date procurement records and data in the ERP/CRM system, ensuring proper documentation, reports and data hygiene for transparency and audit purposes.
  • Tracking supply market trends (competitive pressures, new entrants, substituting products or services, changes in the value chain).
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier development.
  • Review quantities and material specifications received from the BU and raise clarifications before engaging vendors.
  • Source and evaluate vendors for materials and subcontracted works within the related scope.
  • Collect and consolidate quotations with technical details and present them to the BU for evaluation.
  • Prepare and create Purchase Orders (PO) in the company system.
  • Review and share contract terms and POs with vendors ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Track and follow up with vendors on material deliveries and update a delivery tracker.
  • Identify and propose alternative solutions in case of supply chain issues or delays.
  • Support negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and ensure supplier performance aligns with company standards.
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with project requirements and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or related field).
  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or engineering (typically 2–3 years).
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and negotiation practices.
  • Technical understanding of engineering materials, equipment, and systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office tools.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with international sourcing, Incoterms, and logistics is a plus.
