Process Engineering Supervisor – MFC

About the Role
We are seeking a Process Engineering Supervisor to oversee operations of the Mix Feed unit (MFC) and associated high‑temperature processing units. This role involves supervising process engineers, supporting plant optimisation, and ensuring reliable and safe operation of furnaces and heaters. The successful candidate will have hands‑on experience with ethylene or steam processing operations and familiarity with simulation tools such as SPYRO.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor process engineers working on MFC operations, providing technical guidance and daily support.
- Optimise furnace and heater operations, including start‑up, shutdown, decoking and routine operations.
- Use SPYRO or equivalent simulation tools to analyse and improve feedstock performance and product yields.
- Support troubleshooting activities, identifying root causes of operational issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Monitor plant performance metrics, including throughput, energy efficiency and process reliability, and prepare improvement reports.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement process modifications, new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to HAZOPs, PFDs, P&IDs and safety reviews related to MFC operations.
- Provide input to project scoping, feasibility studies and optimisation initiatives for processing units.
- Manage chemical and catalyst usage, working closely with procurement and technical teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Significant experience in MFC, ethylene or steam processing operations.
- Hands‑on knowledge of high‑temperature furnaces and heaters.
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as SPYRO or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and optimisation skills.
- Experience supervising and mentoring engineers.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
