Job description

Responsibilities
  • Design and Analysis: Develop detailed designs for pressure vessels, combustion chambers, and heat recovery units using COMPRESS and PV Elite.
  • Perform structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS and NozzlePro to ensure integrity under operating conditions.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry codes and standards, including ASME Section VIII, API 560, and other applicable specifications.
  • Prepare and review design calculations and documentation for third‑party approvals and inspections.
  • Preparation of Technical Delivery Conditions (TDC’s) as per Code requirements & project specifications.
  • Verification of software outputs with respect to Code formulas using manual calculations / references from ASME PTB’s.
  • Project Execution: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, process engineers, project engineers, and manufacturing engineers to align designs with project requirements.
  • Provide drawings / sketches to procurement team for sourcing the materials as required, review the drawings from vendors prior to fabrication.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Identify and implement best practices in design processes and tools.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Address design challenges during fabrication, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Propose innovative solutions for complex engineering problems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, drawings, and manuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering activities and revisions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 and up to 10 years of experience in the pressure vessels design and ASME Sec VIII designed equipment, preferably in the pressure vessel and thermal equipment industry.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
