Role Description
The Post Sales Engineer will play a key technical role in ensuring customer success by providing implementation, configuration, and support for networking solutions—specifically focusing on switches, routers, and related network infrastructure. This role bridges the gap between solution delivery and customer operations, ensuring that deployed systems perform optimally, issues are resolved promptly, and clients receive high-quality post-sales technical support.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide post-sales technical support for switches, routers, and networking solutions (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi).
- Lead installation, configuration, and testing of network hardware and software as per project requirements.
- On-site work implementation to assist customers with commissioning, network optimization, troubleshooting, upgrading firmware, replacing defective devices, and other similar tasks.
- Provide post-sales technical support for the complete products and solutions portfolio of industrial communications.
- Provide technical product presentation for functionality as well as conduct customer workshops and training as and when required.
- Assist the Sales team as and when needed with Bid/Tender documents and proposals, from early stage design, budget phase, proposal and also negotiation and clarifications.
- Participate in network planning with customers to guide applications, usage, integration and best practices.
- Use telephone and remote isolation, diagnostic and resolution tools, documents and capabilities to resolve complex integrated end user implementation, configuration, and operational issues in a timely manner.
- Solutions will often include 3rd party products/solutions and onsite support.
- Create and Maintain the Reports to log and track their work, activities and services provided to internal teams and customers.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Having Strong technical background in telecommunications with an emphasis on Ethernet, IP routing and associated protocols, cyber security and Broadband Wireless Technologies (WIFI, WiMAX, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of PC operating systems i.e. Windows and Linux
- Several years’ experience providing technical and sales support for Ethernet and TCP-IP networks (Layer 2 AND 3)
- Valid Driving License is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Candidate should possess an Engineering / Computer Science Graduate degree majoring in Networking.
- Cisco certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE are highly desirable.
- Experience in diverse automation markets such as Power Utilities, Transportation, Oil & Gas, Mining, others.
- Excellent analytical skills, be able to multi-task on various projects, be highly self-motivated, a self-starter.
- Familiar with trouble-shooting and problem-solving techniques and methods.
- 5-10 years of work experience as Service Engineer having worked in Industrial Automation Sector specifically as Network Engineer / Solution Consultant.
