- Performance indicators – Ensure the effective provision of Physical Logistics activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting any impact on Continuing Airworthiness. Understand how individual actions contribute to overall delivery performance.
- Completion of activities – Ensure all Physical Logistics activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escape as appropriate.
- Procedure/standards – Comply with the Part 145 Exposition and its associated procedures and standards and any other company procedures and standards, as applicable. Identify and propose changes, as required.
- Safety Management System – Ensure Human Factors and Error Management philosophies are applied to all Physical Logistics activities. Understand the risks associated with Physical Logistics and the means by which they are mitigated and managed.
- Management System Assurance – Ensure Physical Logistics activities are compliant with the SMSCMC Governance and Assurance framework, including supporting Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits. Support the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information to support the relevant reviews. Support the implementation of identified improvements to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness.
- Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any Regulatory-driven changes into the Physical Logistics activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc.
- Contractual Requirements – Ensure compliance with applicable contractual requirements, e.g. through support to contract reviews and the incorporation of required changes into Physical Logistics processes.
Specific Areas of Responsibility to Capability:
- Ensure all associated work is carried out in accordance with SMSCMC policy and has the general awareness of the Competency Framework.
- Receive all items, ensuring that all required documentation is present and correct and that the packaging is intact. Quarantine any non-conforming items for appropriate investigation action. Record receipts using Stock accounting systems and procedures in place.
- Check that part numbers on documentation matches that marked on the part or parts packaging. Quarantine any non-confirming items for appropriate investigation action.
- Place stores and parts demands ensuring satisfactory response from source in order to meet key performance indicators.
- Ensure the preservation of materials and equipment is conducted as defined within logistics storage systems.
- Ensure the storage, handling and movement of hazardous materials is carried out as defined within hazard data sheets and mandated procedures.
- Pick, pack and deliver parts requests to the customer, ensuring the right parts are delivered to the right place at the right time safely including line side replenishment.
- Protect any materials for dispatch against transit damage. Adhere to material packaging standards publications.
- Liaise with relevant transport agencies to collect items for onwards despatch to customer or supplier. Ensure that all accompanying documentation requirements are met.
- Identify and record inability to supply items ensuring all relevant teams are aware.
- Build effective business relationships with line and suppliers to facilitate supply problems.
- Supervise a small team in a Physical Logistics environment.

Qualifications
Experience
- Understand the workings of a Physical Logistics operation and the importance of documentation in a safety critical environment.
- Good planning and expediting knowledge and skills and can demonstrate experience of using asset tracking / warehouse and planning systems.
- Knowledge of customer and supplier logistics processes.
- Relationship building skills in order to build working rapport with the line and suppliers and problem solving skills to ensure quick resolution of items shortages to the line.
Required:
Good IT literacy skills and knowledge of asset tracking / MRP systems.
