Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams and clients.
  • Maintain NDT instruments and records.
  • Participate in audits and improvement programs.

Salary: ₹50,000 – ₹1,00,000 per month

Contract Duration: 5 Years (Renewable)

Work Schedule: 10 Hours per day

Work Days: 6 Days per week

Job Summary

The PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) NDT Technician will be responsible for performing advanced ultrasonic examinations on welds, materials, and components in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. The role demands hands‑on experience with PAUT systems, data interpretation, and report generation, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) inspections on welds, plates, and pipes as per approved procedures and standards.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate PAUT equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Interpret and evaluate PAUT data to identify material defects and discontinuities.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports with accurate documentation of findings.
  • Follow project specifications, ASME, API, and ISO codes during testing operations.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams, clients, and third‑party inspectors for inspection approvals.
  • Maintain NDT instruments, calibration records, and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Participate in periodic audits and continuous improvement programs.
Essential Qualifications
  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Valid ASNT Level II / ISO 9712 certification in UT and PAUT (mandatory).
  • Additional NDT certifications such as MT, PT, RT are preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME, AWS D1.1, API, ISO).
Skills Required
  • Proficiency in operating PAUT systems (e.g., Olympus, Sonatest, Zetec).
  • Strong understanding of ultrasonic wave theory and defect characterization.
