Job description and responsibilities:
  • Providing clinical leadership to the Oncology ward to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients.
  • Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management.
  • Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centered care in a team focused environment
  • Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team
  • Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources.
  • Undertaking direct patient care, as required
  • Compliance with standards and Policies of the hospital.
  • oversee all nursing care in the assigned areas, providing clinical leadership in the planning, managing and evaluating the operations of the Oncology & Hematology Area.
  • Responsible for patient advocacy, clinical expertise, regulatory compliance and coordination of resources (human, fiscal, physical plant, etc).
  • Collaborates with the Directors of Department to monitor clinical performance and to ensure specialty standards and operation targets are met by the department divisions.
  • Act as a role model for patient care associates within the organization and outside the organization and assists in managing all staffing concerns and resolving performance management issues.
  • Do presentation and reports needed on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Manage and provide basic and comprehensive nursing guidance and care based on National Nursing Standards and the approved nursing process.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates care plans in collaboration with the patient, the significant others, and the whole healthcare team.
