Responsibilities
  • The main purpose of the Officer - HSE job is to ensure compliance with set safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Prepare and implement project Safety & Emergency Plan / Program
  • Conduct HSE orientation to new employees on projects
  • Review method statements and ensure being complied with during execution of the activity
  • Ensure HSE compliance during site set up
  • Conduct Safety toolbox meetings, HSE awareness sessions and training
  • Participate in incidents investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct site emergency drills
  • Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and recommend the controls to mitigate the hazards
  • Review Material safety Data sheets and implement its compliance
  • Ensure material handling and storage is conducted in an approved manner
  • Prepare and communicate the project Lesson Learnt Reports relating to HSE
  • Conduct planned and unplanned inspections, identifying potential hazards and ensuring controls are in place
  • Prepares traffic plan at the site and ensure its implementation
  • Monitor waste management and ensure disposal as per safety plan
  • Make sure compliance with work permits for hazardous jobs at the site if required
  • Conduct HSE audits and analyze the trends for subcontractors
  • Manage the performance of all their team members, irrespective of the structure below them
Qualifications
  • BA / BSC / Diploma in Safety Management or relevant
  • NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safely / OHSA Certification
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in HSE in a comparable sized operation to ESEC
  • Experience in the Middle East is a strong plus
  • Proficient in MS Office Suites
  • Fluent in English and preferably Arabic language
  • Good ability in analyzing and solving issues effectively
  • Proven knowledge of Construction HSE inspection
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Data Management and Record Management
  • Good knowledge of international HSE industry standards
  • A robust collaborator and effective team player
