Qualifications

Job Summary

The MFL Inspector is responsible for performing Magnetic Flux Leakage (MLF) inspections on ferromagnetic materials such as pipelines, storage tanks, and structural steel components. This role involves using specialized MFL equipment to detect corrosion, pitting, wall loss, and other defects that may compromise the integrity of industrial assets.

Your Tasks
  • Conduct MFL inspections on tank floors, pipelines, and other steel structures using handheld or automated scanners.
  • Calibrate and operate MFL equipment (e.g., MFE Mark IV, MFE Edge, HandScan).
  • Interpret MFL signals and analyze data to identify and characterize defects.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including defect mapping and severity assessments.
  • Ensure inspections are performed in accordance with applicable codes (e.g., API 653, SNT‑TC‑1A).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot MFL equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Carry out PAUT inspection for welds.
  • Carry out PT, MT, UT, UTT.
  • Follow safety protocols and site‑specific procedures during inspections.
  • Coordinate with clients and other NDT personnel to plan and execute inspection activities.
  • Participate in training and certification programs to maintain technical proficiency.
Your Qualifications And Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical diploma preferred).
  • Certification in MFL inspection (e.g., Level I or II per SNT‑TC‑1A or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in NDT, with at least 1 year in MFL inspections.
  • Familiarity with other NDT methods (UT, VT, PT, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with MFL data interpretation software.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various industrial environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and failure modes in steel structures.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
