Job description
Key Responsibilities

The Specialist Medical Physicist will act as a scientific and technical expert, working directly under the Chief of Radiation Oncology and collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team.

Core duties include:

  • Treatment Planning & Consultation: Plan and discuss complex radiotherapy treatments in conjunction with the Radiation Oncologist, ensuring alignment with the best available evidence-based practice.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) & Dosimetry: Independently perform highly accurate routine and non-routine dosimetry and geometric QA measurements across all radiation therapy modalities and equipment.
  • Equipment Management: Lead the commissioning of new equipment and upgrades. Monitor equipment performance periodically to guarantee consistent output and ensure recommended maintenance is executed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Establish and implement stringent radiation safety policies and procedures according to standard of care guidelines and local authorities. Instruct staff on appropriate radiation safety practices.
  • Research & Development: Research new techniques and advise on workflow and policies, functioning as the technical expert for assigned physics projects.
  • Patient Care: Provide personalized, coordinated care, support, and treatment for patients and families, treating all individuals with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Physics/Biophysics.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in radiation oncology medical physics with demonstrated clinical proficiency.

Comprehensive knowledge of local, national, and international standards for safety and quality assurance.

Licensure

Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) License, Ministry of Health (MOH) License, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
