We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician to conduct servicing, corrective and preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery as per established SOPs, HSEQ and industry regulations and ensuring that all equipment and apparatus are operational at all times to support delivery of maintenance operations.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out in a timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures, customer specifications and industry standards
  • Perform the administration, configuration, calibration, maintenance, programming, and qualification of assigned equipment / machinery as per established SOPs
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on Smelter equipment and related equipment/machinery as per contractual/customer requirements and specifications while adhering to quality and industry standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic equipment and process errors and recommend solutions by applying a wide variety of existing techniques, processes, and procedures
  • Provide on-site support to customers as required to ensure all equipment, machinery and tooling conform to relevant standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure the technical integrity and performance of mechanical equipment and machinery at all times
  • Understand safety requirements and ensure all maintenance works are in line with safety standards
  • Monitor equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational performance and reduction of maintenance
  • Monitor stock requirements ensuring the availability of equipment, consumables, stock levels, raw materials, etc., and coordinate timely stock replenishment to support maintenance works
  • Gather, record, analyze, and summarize data and prepare reports of works/tasks performed as per reporting requirements
  • Keep maintenance/works records up to date with additions/modifications and support report preparation requirements
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance processes and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services to support sales strategy
  • Understand safety requirements and maintain awareness to comply with all health and safety rules for mechanical work
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including HSEQ using company policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or vocational certification in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
