Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Material or Procurement Engineer to join our dynamic team in the construction and building industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our projects are supplied with the necessary materials and resources in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement processes, material science, and supply chain management, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring that our projects are completed on time and within budget. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in landscaping projects, especially in material submittals and approvals, and familiarity with Public Investment Fund (PIF) projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process for construction materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities to establish long-term relationships.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and materials that can enhance project quality and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine material specifications and quantities required for various projects, particularly in landscaping.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage material requisitions to avoid project delays, especially for landscaping materials.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and conditions.
- Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier evaluations.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to the construction site, coordinating with logistics and transportation teams.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in material technology to recommend innovative solutions.

- A degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in procurement or materials engineering, preferably within Saudi Arabia, with a focus on landscaping projects and familiarity with PIF projects.
