Job summary

India Abroad in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our facility, including unloading, loading, and inventory control, using computerized or manual records.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential. The role requires lifting up to 50lbs, willingness to work long hours including evenings, weekends and holidays, and the ability to read and understand English

Qualifications

• Biometric passport or valid work authorization required.
• Previous experience in material handling is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read and understand English instructions.
• Must possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs is necessary for this position.
• Must be willing to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Preference will be given to candidates who are African or Malayalee nationals but this is not a strict requirement.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that materials are received in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Unloading incoming materials from vehicles such as trucks or vans using hand trucks or dollies.
• Loading outgoing materials onto delivery vehicles according to shipping instructions given by customers or supervisors.
• Counting items accurately to ensure inventory accuracy and prevent loss of materials due to incorrect shipments or other errors.
• Moving materials within the facility between departments and keeping track of all shipments and deliveries accurately using computerized systems or manual records as needed.
• Performing routine inspections on equipment such as forklifts before use in order to ensure safety standards are met at all times when operating machinery on the premises.
