Job Brief

we are seeking a diligent Maintenance Technician to manage the upkeep and repair operations in our facilities. as Maintenance Technician responsibilities include scheduling regular maintenance, managing repair activities, and ensuring the optimal working condition of our premises. should demonstrate good organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a keen understanding of maintenance planning and operations. the ideal candidate will have proven experience in maintenance coordination, be familiar with health and safety regulations, and be able to ensure efficient utilization of maintenance resources. the Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing work and occasionally monitoring staff at work. they need to know enough about the task to make the right resources available and spot potential problems. hence, some basic building and equipment repair work experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• work closely with managerial staff like the Senior HK Supervisor, General Manager, Construction Director and Maintenance Manager to incorporate and execute the organization’s weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance plan
• communicate with service providers, vendors, and maintenance contractors to schedule repairs, servicing, preventive maintenance, and other maintenance required to keep the company’s physical assets running smoothly
• schedule and execute work orders related to routine daily maintenance
• oversee Maintenance Department inventory management and facility management
• monitor usage of tools and equipment and ensure tools are readily available for assigned tasks
• assign tasks to workers, coordinate and ensure completion of work
• monitor use of PPE and other resources; recommend replacements when due
• provide assistance to managers and colleagues, especially in the areas of completing work orders assigned to Maintenance
• handle miscellaneous maintenance tasks and respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
• coordinate and complete daily maintenance tasks such as repairs and inspections
• oversee maintenance staff and provide necessary training to housekeeping where needed
• develop and implement maintenance procedures
• carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
• plan, manage or physically execute all repair and installation activities
• update maintenance logs and report on daily activities
• maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
• perform routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
• maintain the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
• apply preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
• painting when old paint has become faded or chipped
• basic IT experience in physical connections and routing of cables
• groundskeeping if the facility or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
• interpersonal skills to interact with employees or guests of the property in a pleasant manner
• attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
• physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building

Requirements

Electrical and Plumbing

• special focus on electrical and plumbing experience. Trade test or qualification will be a plus
• plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
• electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the guest units or retreat’s electricity

Carpentry and Construction

• special focus on modular construction and carpentry experience. Trade test or qualification will be a plus
• hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
• ability to read technical documents and drawings

General

• relevant experience in a similar position for at least 3 years
• high school diploma
• excellent English language, Arabic is a plus
• computer literate in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
• excellent verbal, writing, and listening skills
• self-motivated and creative problem-solver
• ability to work both autonomously and in a team setting
